The Wildlife series is a new edition of bullion coins issued by the government of Canada. The 2011 Grizzly coin is the second launched in a series of six.

The Wildlife coin is the only coin, except for the Silver Maple, being produced with “four-nines” making it the purest silver coin produced by any government mint.

The mintage is limited to 1 million coins. It is thus likely that coins will be highly sought after by collectors. The mintage can be compared to the mintage for the Silver Maple which was 9.7 million coins in 2009.
