The Silver Libertad is one of the most popular state-minted bullion coins. It has been produced since 1982 but many of the years in the 1990′ s have low mintages and several years come with a high collective premium. The Mexican Mint has increased production in later years for the coin to compete with other bullion coins. The mintage is however still significantly lower than for other bullion coins like the Silver Eagle so there is a higher premium for the Libertad.
